Summary/Abstract: The ancient history of the space within the natural borders of Danube, Siret and Prut is rather spectacular. Pleading for this, are the frequent discoveries of various artefacts from different cultures or periods. Various remains of ancient populations living within this area suggest furthermore the presence of some of the most adequate natural environment conditions. In this short intervention, the author makes some remarks about historiographic literature from the last two decades. It is worth telling that the main ideas are stated in the Galaţi archaeological and numismatic bibliography and in the Galaţi archaeological and numismatic discoveries repertoire, books, which the article’s author published, respectively is preparing to be printed. Besides putting together a few contributions into some categories, the author points out the lack of archaeological discoveries and also the poverty of the specific literature. He explains these situations by showing the deficiency of a coherent, long-term investigation project regarding the Galaţi archaeological patrimony. Because of that, the specific literature still deals with the precedent discoveries, interpreting and reinterpreting the same artefacts.
