Summary/Abstract: Since the political transformations in Poland in 1989, theatre has been the only area not affected by the hostile attitude towards Russian culture. Initially, namely in the years 1989–1995, the changes made Russian literature disappear from the Polish market completely. Only the second half of the last 20th century decade brought balance to it. The slightest fluctuations have been noticed at the theatre, where Russian art is the second most popular after Polish. At the beginning of the 21st century, the new Russian literature and the new Russian drama are very popular in Poland.
