Summary/Abstract: The article is a presentation of transformations occurring in the Belorussian literary scene after 1985 in the context of political events. It highlights the value of local social structures such as The Society of Belorussian Men of Letters and literary groups the Locals, Society of Young Literary Men and Bum-Bam-Lit. The creation of the last one, whose members are people born mainly in the 70s, is a completely new and unique phenomenon in all the history of Belorussian literature. They are mainly distanced from social and political problems and critical towards reality. On the structural level, the poets of that generation apply numerous experiments, though they tend to benefit from traditional and classical rhyming principles. Despite the lack of univocality on the topical level, the young Belorussian poetry remains homogenous and peculiar for the generation, compared with the same generation of poets in other European countries.
