Summary/Abstract: The article is a presentation of transformations occurring in cultural contacts (science cooperation, literature, theatre, music and art exchange) between Poland, Belarus and Ukraine after the collapse of the Soviet Union. It highlights the historical, social and political influence on the mutual contacts. Social influence, which means mainly the Polish people discouragement of former soviet culture, caused the pause in those contacts that lasted till 1995. Political changes occurred in Belarus and Ukraine had an influence on their culture and are the main cause of the fact that Belarusian culture is far less present in Poland than Ukrainian. Polish people are interested in Ukrainian culture as a new, exotic and fascinating phenomenon and on the other hand, they are interested in Belarusian politics as a unique European political system. These interests determine the character and intensity of the cultural contacts between Poland, Belarus and Ukraine.
