Summary/Abstract: Słupsk Special Economic Zone (SEZ) arose in 1997. It is situated in the northern part of Poland, in the vicinity of the Federal Republic of Germany. At the end of December 2009 the total surface of the zone was 401,1725 ha (of which developed land made about 59.1%) located in three voivodeships: Pomeranian, West-Pomeranian and Great Poland. Sev¬enty one permissions on economic activity in the zone had been issued till then. The number of employees substantially and steadily increased and was 2.4 thousand. In the zone there are mainly firms from the automotive industry, metallurgy, wood processing, metal industry, fish processing and transport services and storage. According to the Law on special economic zones, Słupsk Special Economic Zone will be till 2020.
