Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on local government quantification issues. The starting point for the discussion is the justification of the necessity to construct complex measurements which allow to evaluate the quality of this phenomenon. In the next part an attention is fo¬cused on the difficulties of selecting the appropriate criteria of evaluation and on their op¬erationalization with the use of indicators. The article presents the world systems of local governments measurement and systemizes them.
