EFFECTIVE DELIVERY OF URBAN PUBLIC SERVICES

Summary/Abstract: Effective delivery of public service has become a challenge to public authorities, including self-governments who are responsible for an array of municipal and social services. Public services become more expensive, new investment needs arise and operation costs of delivery and maintenance grow. Fragmentary, single actions towards efficiency are currently not a solution. The paper is an attempt of complex and multidimensional issue of efficiency in public services. It includes a proposal of procedure for effectiveness assessment, including a methodological outline which takes into consideration different subjective and objective aspects of urban public services delivery.
