Urban policy in a post-industrial region

Summary/Abstract: The issue of urban policy specifics in a post-industrial region is addressed in the paper. A lot of Polish regions have undergone vast processes of industry restructuring. The outcomes of restructuring accumulate in urban structures. Their extent is a reason for the necessity of urban policy understood as the intervention towards towns that will not be able to face their development challenges on their own. Restructuring and deindustrialization of urbanized regions are discussed in the paper with a focus on challenges and strategic orientation of the urban policy of a post-industrial region.
