CURRENT SYSTEM OF FINANCING HIGHER EDUCATION IN ROMANIA STATE

Summary/Abstract: For the future of academic education, investments in higher education should be a public priority, since this generates long-term effects both on human resources development, which represents the most important resource of a nation, and on producing knowledge, without which we could not possibly evolve. In Romania, the question of providing the necessary funds to universities has increasingly become a matter of financial management and of methods used in order to obtain their economic efficiency. The introduction of a legal form of participation of the employers in financing higher education would motivate universities to increase the quality of education, considering that, out of the total number of graduates, only the best will be integrated in the labour market, and that the forming universities will be rewarded.
