Summary/Abstract: According to the Christian historian Eusebiu of Caesarea, the founder of the Alexandrine Church is Mark, the Saint Evangelist and there is sufficient proof that should make us believe that in Alexandria Christianity is of apostolic origin. The clerical life in Alexandria had a very fast and harmonious development despite the fact that the Church crossed the very time of the persecutions and many Christians departed this life as martyrs of Christ. The Catechetical School of the city at the Nile mouth was the place where the Greek philosophy, the Jewish culture and the Gospel’s teaching met.
