Summary/Abstract: А notice from the anonymous Diegesis peri tes Agias Sophias about the rebellion of the Arians and the conflagration of the roof of the old church of St. Sophia in Constantinople has Ьееп analyzed from the aspect of its chronology and compared to some other source accounts. The results lead to the assump- tion that this notice was based upon the massacre of the Goths in Constantinople (400). Confirmation of this assumption might further contribute to answering two questions about the massacre of the Goths - the identification of the church јп which the Goths sought shelter, as well as the clarification of the accounts оп the massacre left Ьу fifth-century church historians.
