Sigmund Freud and the new vision on sexuality

Summary/Abstract: The present article offers a brief vision on some main aspects regarding the life of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. At the end of the XIXth and the beginning of the XXth century, psychoanalysis was a particularly important area within scientific life, specially in psychology. Sigmund Freud has built his theory based on previous clinical observations that were processed and adapted to the current scientific framework that characterised his era. A direct result of his research was the establishment of a series of scientific roles for women and men in society, that later had a major influence on many theories.
