Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the contract of «working mother» in contemporary Russia. It examines the forming and functioning of this contract in the Soviet times and the reasons of its erosion in 2000s.The actions of civil protests aimed at keeping this contract are analyzed. The author believes that breaking of the contract of «working mother» threatens the Russian state with serious demographic and political problems (civil activity of pregnant women and mothers with young children prove this statement).
