Summary/Abstract: UN Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women known as «Women’s Bill of rights» (1979) adopted in the context of powerful women’s movement defines all women’s rights and serves as international instrument for the solution of gender discrimination problems. Russia as the other countries that have ratified this Convention has taken the obligation not only to establish formal legal equality between men and women but also to take measures in real realization of women’s rights equally with men. Every four years the country is obliged to present reports that include information concerning the realization of the Convention and final recommendations formulated on the basis of results of the previous report. The article is devoted to the destiny of Convention and the reports on its realization.
