The symbol of Balchik. The Mill of the Anonymous Industrial Company – an outstanding monument of the Bulgarian industry

Summary/Abstract: The author examines thoroughly the mill in Balchik at the background of historical events from the first decades of the 20th century and the economic development of South Dobrudja in this period. The mill in Balchik was established in the beginning of the 20th century, which was the largest industrial enterprise of its time in South Dobrudja. The construction of the mill, the organization of the technological process, production capacity and operations, marketing of finished products, and the inclusion of performance in the overall economic picture of the region – all this has been traced using the available documentary and research material.
