Selected consequences of debt crisis in the European Union in the area of public debt

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents selected consequences of debt crisis in the Europeam Union. Special attention was paid to public debt. Firstly, the theory of public debt was presented, both: law regulations and scientific aspects of the debt. Secondly, changes in budget incomes, spendings, deficits and public debt were analized. Thirdly, the main activities of European governments and the European Commision in the area of fiscal policy and public debt management were shown.
