Summary/Abstract: Everyone speak and write about the events of December 1989, but not all the participants were motivated by revealing truth. We can state, without avoidin,g the peril of misunderstanding that more of those who tried - let's say - to make their contribution to the trouth of the events of December 1989, the year considered to be the turningpoint for abolishing communism in Europe, followed to postpone the trouth and even to discredit it. They called for invented quibbles, false testimonies, distortions- more or less plausible, refusals to make declarations and so on; they managed to change the reality into nothingness, fact that is next to impose a false reality instead of a "real" one. From time to time, whenever a point of view became believable, a former "hero" of the "Revolution of December 1989" came with a new point of view which turned down the facts so every system became broke or confused. This fact proves that behind the so-called Revolution are hidden things not to be known. This kind of things seem to exist regarding the events of Iaşi in December 14, 1989 when a group of local intellectuals (Ştefan Pruteanu, Cassian Maria Spiridon, Luca Piţu) tried to organize a meeting against communism. Even if their actions had nat reach the point because of the oppression system, one can state that the events in Iaşi prepared the beginning of the Romanian Revolution in December 1989. Still, December 14, 1989 was systematically avoided by historiography in the last 1O years; the events that took place in Iaşi were not in the attention of the researchers; they even tried to postpone the real facts. This is the reason why we carried out a critica!research about the fragments concerning the Revolution in Iaşi that historiography had in roind. We alsa tried to understand what led to the lack of interest and ignorance this episode was treated, an episode still important for our national history.
