Summary/Abstract: In the article there is the analysis of the book by A. Shkvarov «Petr I i kazaki», of its main mistakes (to author's opinion) in the approach to the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks and Ukrainian Hetmanate. Particularly, in the approach to the «articles», different mental views of the two sides (Ukraine and Russia) in 1654.
