Summary/Abstract: Mira ¯elechower-Aleksiun’s series of pictures; called “Heritage, Midrashim” has developed from her interest and understanding Hebraic Tora text and visions. The works become the painting descripition and expression of events, recoded in this Holy Book of Hebrew tradition. Pictures “catch” the events and their atmosphere into a chromatic, visual net – like through the shaking, hot air. They tell stories from a long time ago, but the most important is their transpersonal character; We, spectators realise, that choices of their Heros also apply to all of us.Every painting is provided with a suitable commentary from Tora. Painted in an impressionistic style, bigger scenes of pictures receive a visionlike character and create a suggestive climate, that brings us to emotional and intellectual reflection. We witness and somehow take part in sacral rituals with the atmosphere of mental initiation.
