Summary/Abstract: The Wro New Media Festival is organized every year in Wroc³aw. It’s an international event. This year, in the competition cathegory of installation, perfomance and net 70 works were showed. Unfortunately, none of them came from Poland. Mike Stubbs brought a video “Cultural Quartet”, a kind of social documentary on vandalism, awarded with the first price. The second price – Sarah Kolsteand Derek Holzner’s performance, an example of the well-know trend, called AGF – was a live cooperation between a “visual” and “sound” artists. The third award took equally: Volker Schreiner’s film “Counter”, a visual narration, created from many clips with numbers from 0 to 200, and a net project “chamanic interferences”. Just as every year, Józef Robakowski showed great works. His meditation film “Videosongs” (1992) as well as the other presentation “Videokisses” (1992 again) were masterly examples of “row” video - short, artistic paradocumentary. The only musical presentation from Poland, like every year, was the Gameboys concert, very popular with young public. The group plays on well-known electronic toys, mastering 8 bit monorhytmic sound noose in the lo-tech, “garbage” technology.
