Summary/Abstract: In 2004, the Transmedial Exhibition was entitled „Fly Utopia”. Shilpta Gupta, and artist from India, showed an installation entirled “Your Kidney Supermarket”, which referred to the human organ trade. Simon Schiessel, an artist from America, showed an installation entitled “Haptic Opposition”, which was built around an opaque projector. Yunchul Kim from Korea showed “(Void)traffic” which illustrated the flow of information at the festival. Lynn Pook from America showed an installation entitled “A fleur de pean”. Harun Farocki from Germany showed a film documentary from the Gulf War. Kristin Lucas from America showed a video entitled “Celebrations for breaking routine”. The Depart Group from Estonia and Germany quoted video art, Greek mythology, and Zen Buddhist texts. “Bleeding Through” documented different events in Los Angeles from 1920 to 1986. Casey Reas used different media, such as printing and cartoon technology. Tania Gutierez concentrated on subtle, dream-like fantasy. Artists from Holland were awarded for their software art. Julien Maire from France showed a movie entitled “Reverse Camera”. German artists organised a “Nomadic” workshop.
