Summary/Abstract: Seemingly, each phase in £uczaj’s work is different. In fact, his entire work of art can be considered from the same perspective. He was interested in realistic studies shortly after he graduated from an art school. Nevertheless, concentrated on such elements in the reality as rhythmic structure and geometric order. He painted a series of pictures entitled ‘The Dynamics of Lines’. He showed monochromatic geometric constructions in the black, gray and white colors. In 1988, the artist visited Canada, and he was inspired by the view of the river canyon near the city of Drumheller, and, especially, the different geological layers, tectonic faults, which could be seen in the canyon. He produced a series of small gouache paintings using only ochre and gray paints. In 1999, he started his architectural series, and after 1999, he concentrated on the humanistic subjects, such as religion, sex, old age. In 2003, he started a new series entitled ‘The History of Color’. In 2005, the Szyd³owski Gallery in Warsaw organized a show of Luczaj’s newest paintings entitled ‘The Horizons’.
