Summary/Abstract: Tadeusz Gustaw Wiktor concentrates on painting and drawing, but, also, he is interested in philosophy and literature by Krishnamurti, Suzuki, Neng and Jung. His art is meditative and refined, based on solid craftsmanship. He consequently follows his theories and ideas about art. He believes in the coexistence of opposite elements. He considers the black color as the symbol of positive emotions, and the white color as the symbol of nothing. In 1973, he painted a series of black pictures, and in 1974, he painted a series of white pictures. He believes that there is a unity of the black and white colors. He often uses such symbols as the symbol of cross, circle and square. He is a serious artist, who disregards playfulness and jocularity, political games and populism. He keeps a distance towards objectivity. His art is both subjective and universal. He constructs his pictures based on logical order. He reveals the harmony and beauty in the nature and in the universe.
