Summary/Abstract: To be competitive in today's business conditions means continuously implementing of innovative changes in the management of business operations with the aim of improving the internal and external organization’s quality as a whole. The application of appropriate contemporary managerial and entrepreneurial principles within the higher educational institutions is a "condition sine qua non", respectively the condition without which, their development within contemporary organizational context is unattainable. Their application has to be adjusted to the humans, principles, processes and activities that are immanent to higher education institutions. The context of their innovative adaptation should be understood in terms of the principles of strategic entrepreneurship and total quality management application on every governing and operational process within higher educational institutions. Using the principles of strategic entrepreneurship, higher education institutions will be able to deliver value to all stakeholders in an effective way, while the application of the total quality management principles will ensure delivery of the specified value in an efficient way, which provides a managerial balance which guarantees long-term institutional business success. This paper aims to present, primarily to the teachers, assistants, administrative staff and students, a qualitative change in the way of university development, including an elaboration of the repercussions that these changes will generate on the entire society of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
