Summary/Abstract: Until 1742, when Xhamaria Biem published his book “History of George Kastrioti Scanderbeg, called Scanderbeg”, nobody questioned that the “History of Life and Deeds of Scanderbeg” of M.Barleti was the first published work dedicated to hour National Hero. Marin Barleti wrote his book on Scanderbeg’s life, published in Rome, between 1508-1510, in Latin, in accordance with the humanist spirit of his time and with such a high a level, that it became one of the most widespread and translated works in Europe. In the meantime, M. Barleti’s work on Scanderbeg recognized many other translations and adaptations that were issued with other authors’ names, like in French with the name of Jacque de Lavardin, Jean Nicola Dupensee, etc., avoiding thus the name of M. Barleti. History of Scanderbeg, published in 1742, is a succession of the above-mentioned authors’ books on Scanderbeg. However, it is the most important of all its predecessors for the bibliography that it used and especially for the great impact on later authors who wrote on Scanderbeg. Xh. Biem’s History of Scanderbeg has the form of a monograph, where the adapted story of M. Barleti, which is the basic matter, is combined with other scarce data, taken from other authors’ works, mentioned and quoted by him and many “data” and episodes that are fantasy creations of Xh. Biem, the author himself and attributed to Tivarasi.
