Summary/Abstract: In the sources on the medieval history the name Dibra comes out in a document of the beginning of the XII-th century, when it is mentioned a “bishop of Dibra” and in a document of the beginning of the XIV-th century which mention the region of Dibra. Dibra has occupied a place even in the works of the Byzantine authors. Some parts of the works of the Byzantine authors with political and military events in Albania are published translated into the Albanian language in the years 1962. In 1967 were published those which mention the epoch of Scanderbeg, in 1975 were published translated into Albanian all the parts of the works of the Byzantine authors where are mentioned the Albanian regions, and in 1978 were published the Byzantine documents on the same subject. The Byzantine authors, as well as the other sources, have inexactitudes in the presentation of the historical events, in toponymy, etc. The main mistake of the publishers of the Byzantine sources into Albanian, as well of the other scholars who were occupied with the localization of the battles fought between the Albanians led by Scanderbeg and the Ottoman army, has been the ignorance from their part of the roads through which could move the warring armies from the coastal regions of the Adriatic towards Macedonia and vice-versa.
