Summary/Abstract: The Act on the National Labour Inspectorate (Państwowa Inspekcja Pracy; further referred to as the PIP) of 13 April 2007, that comes into effect on 1 July, 2007, introduces, inter alia, new adjustments in the area of establishing employment relationships with employees of the National Labour Inspectorate. The present act has eliminated a principle that workers employed by the labour inspectorate are civil servants and they come under the influence of the act on civil servants employment. It has introduced a nomination as a base of labour inspectorate’s (PIP) employees, who perform control actions. The present employment relationships in labour inspectorate (PIP) are being established on the basis of the act on labour inspectorate (PIP) and the labour code. The Act on the National Labour Inspectorate provides three types of employment with its employees: an employment contract, a nomination and an appointment. The choice between them is not optional but it is prescribed by the National Labour Inspection Act. Additionally, the employment in the National Labour Inspectorate (PIP) service diversifies all of its employees in the domain and field of keeping to order responsibility and disciplinary liability.
