Summary/Abstract: The author of the article performs a legal analysis of the issue of employing attorneys at law at units of local government, taking into consideration both the Attorneys at Law Act and the Local Government Employees Act. The article discusses employment of attorneys at law at units of local government and terminating the employment of an attorney at law pursuant to Article 19 of the Attorneys at Law Act. The author aims at proving the thesis that practicing as attorney at law (a profession of public trust) at units of local government involves many legal requirements not only for attorneys at law but also for their employers – in this instance local government units. It should be noted that persons pursuing employment as attorneys at law at units of local government and employers themselves will find the following article very useful.
