Summary/Abstract: This paper examines how institutions of higher education might evaluate professors’ performance in terms of research, teaching, and service. An Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP model) is developed and presented, allowing decision makers to compare university professors in an objective way. The AHP method allows diverse viewpoints to be considered and integrated. Ranking the university professors is always a complex, multi-faceted, judgmental process. It is important that the decisionmaking process is rational, consistent, and defensible. The AHP may offer an opportunity to integrate all these issues to provide a true mechanism that offers objectivity and understanding.
