Summary/Abstract: Analysis of scientific literature discusses political, economic and social factors which influence the process of migration and determines migration models. Rapid socio – economic changes began after Lithuania got its independence. That influenced an increased migration process. After joining the European Union in 2005, Lithuanian Government faced significant migration problems because labour power movement restrictions were removed. That is when Lithuanian people started emigrating to economically stable and socially secure Great Britain. Lithuanian emigrants in Great Britain get into social stratification that determines a particular life style. Considering that fact, a research on Lithuanian people’s life style in England was done. This was based on emigrants work, education, daily life and leisure analysis. A hypothesis that there is a link between the expression of emigrants’ life style and demographic factors (gender, age, education, family status and time spent in Great Britain) was confirmed: • Male and those who have emigrated to England 10 and more years ago have better conditions to improve in their professional areas. • Young and with secondary education emigrants are likely to study English. • Living for short time and young emigrants smoke more often. Emigrants of younger age drink alcohol more often than elderly Lithuanians.
