Research on the Language and Style of Enlightenment Writers - the Main Trends in the Last Two Decades of the 20th Century

Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected works on the language of Enlightenment writers with style as the major criterion. The works represent the following methods: an analysis of the most frequent words in the texts of selected writers; an analysis of linguistic means used to create a literary motive (landscape, seasons of the year); a description of qualities of poetic language of a given author or genre; general characteristics of literary styles of Enlightenment; reconstruction of lexical-stylistic awareness based on documents from the époque, which serves as an interpretation context of artistic language in that period.
