Summary/Abstract: Each Member State has its own training solutions that are tar¬geted at national needs. Existing training solutions at the national level should create a training system whereby the border control personnel of all the Member States can work together ef¬fectively. This capacity to work together is achieved through the development of com¬mon training standards. An important prin¬ciple in this respect is direct cooperation and collaboration with Member States. All common standards in training, from common curricula to specialised courses, were devel-oped with the direct engagement of experts in the field, and nominated by the border guard agencies. This ensures that the EU common training standards meet organisational needs whilst facilitating the harmonisation of bor¬der guard learning across the EU.
