Using multivariate statistical methods to assess the capacity of the knee joint among the patients treated surgically for osteoarthritis

Summary/Abstract: Osteoarthritis of the knee ranks third, after the degenerative changes of the spine and hips and affects 5% of the population. The main objective of the osteoarthritis in the knee treatment is to prevent the disease progression, to alleviate pain and to improve the quality of life for patients and their functional capacity. Some information of patients treated surgically for osteoarthritis in the knee with high tibial osteotomy were analyzed in the paper. The goal of the study was to identify groups of patients similar in terms of efficacy and clinical effects of this method of treatment.
