The EU approach concerning the Critical Infrastructure Protection

Summary/Abstract: In order to understand the critical infrastructure protection capabilities it is necessary to reveal the EU approach, based on the practical implementation of activities under the prevention, preparedness and response work streams. Identifying, understanding and analyzing the evolution of the critical infrastructure protection framework are important in the context of the unprecedented development of these at national and regional level. This research provides a stocktaking of the current and proposes EU programs regarding the critical infrastructure protection in order to underline the gaps related to the legal and implementation requests, to establish a framework for risk assessment, to design the national measures for protection and to increase the resilience of European critical infrastructure.
