Summary/Abstract: The history of the Romanian Social Democratic Party has been marked by the process of communization after World War II, mainly in 1945-1948. In this study we have focused on the local organization of the Social Democratic Party from Braila. We have analysed the reconstruction of the party after World War II, the involvement of the local socialist leaders in the political life from Braila, as well as the influence of the central government and its representatives on the local events.
