The Semantic Model of Perception and Its Realization in the Poetry of N. S. Gumilyov

Summary/Abstract: In the works of art metaphorical links between thinking processes and sensual feelings are vividly presented. In the given article the peculiarities of linguistic expressions of different perceptional types are analyzed in the poetic text. The semantic model of perception is realized in Gumilyov's poetry regarding individual sensual notions and associations of the author and peculiarities of their linguistic representations as well (predicative lexics and perceptive metaphors above all). Contextual reading of statements together with semantics of perception testify to their text-forming potential and possibility to be involved into sensual relations with text units of different levels. In is Gumilyov's poetry as well as in Russian world language picture where the semantic model of visual perceptions vividly worked out.
