Medical and demographic determinants of trauma symptoms connected with HIV /AID S syndrome

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a study of relations between demographic and medical variables: being HIV+ vs. HIV/AIDS, addiction to psychoactive drugs, sexual orientation, education, and intensity of trauma symptoms in HIV+ men and women. The studies were run on 310 HIV + people. Intensity of trauma symptoms was assessed with the Factorial version of the PTSD Inventory (PTSDF). Above-mentioned variables were analysed by a special survey. The results suggested that addiction, sexual orientation and education are linked to the level of trauma symptoms in HIV+ infected participants.
