PTSD and psychosocial factors as determinants of the intensity of pain in chronic pain syndromes: Research review

Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this article is to discuss the relationship between the level of posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms (PTSD) and the intensity of pain in various groups of individuals who experience chronic pain syndromes. This work aims also at demonstrating the role of psychosocial factors, such as personality traits, dimensions of body image and social support aspects that affect the relationship between the level of PTSD symptoms and the intensity of chronic pain in chronic pain syndromes.
