Summary/Abstract: In the period of the second republic the film organizations and the press began to exercise a new view of the Czech cinematography. Films should have been forced to be full of optimism, to preach positive values, to draw the attention to famous historical periods. Aalso the Czech cinematography was involved in the wave of anti-semitism. The film organizations made suggestion the Czech films should not have been shot by the producers of the Jewish origin. The film Cech panen kutnohorských shot by Otakar Vvávra was the most successful picture in the period of the second republic in the aspect of audience and evaluation of the expert critique. The conflict poor honest Czechs versus new rich dishonest Germans was accented in the picture. the period of the second republic the film Neporažená armáda and Zborov were shown. They were shot in summer 1938 as the celebration to honour of Czech army that is why they had to been modified after Munich.
