Summary/Abstract: The author devotes to the serial story „Synové a dcery Jakuba skláře“ in his paper. This serial story was shot according to the script of Jaroslav Dietl in the years 1984–1985. The director was Jaroslav Dudek. The television serial presented the life of the glassmaker Jakub Cirkl and his seven children. The story took place in the period of years 1899–1957. It showed the influence of various historical events on the destinies of Cirkl’s family. The author describes the circumstances of the shooting. He analyses the story and the characters in the serial. Using the newspapers reviews he illustrates the way of evaluation by the contemporary reviewers.
