Summary/Abstract: Tamás Koltai is the editor-in-chief of the theatrical paper Színház, he is one of the most important figures of contemporary theatre-criticism. In his writing he not only gives an overall picture on the most important performances of the 2001/2002 theatrical season, including Katona József Theatre, Radnóti Miklós Theatre, the Víg Theatre, and the most radical reformer of today’s theatre life, Krétakör Theatre, but also gives an account of the changes taking place in theatre life, for example the cultural-political struggles around the recently opened National Theatre and the State Opera.
