Summary/Abstract: Plays about families have been around as long as drama has existed. Classical Greek tragedy may have taken its subjectmatter from mythology, but some authors even then described their plots as family conflicts. That is what they are, especially to the modern eye. There have been several recent productions of Medea on the Hungarian stage involving such an interpretation.
