Summary/Abstract: The article deals with different concepts of equality and their evolution in the course of time. It analyses their historical and international context, and also discusses particular types of equality. However, it mainly deals with the interpretation of equality in the case law of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, and hereby attempts to outline a framework for individuals, who seek their constitutionally embedded right to equal treatment.
