ABOUT SCIENTIFIC CRITICISM AND DISCUSSIONS ON ALBANIAN LANGUAGE ORTHOGRAPHY

Summary/Abstract: In such events, when The Congress of Albanian Language Orthography is reminded, on 40th Anniversary, usually is spoken for achievements and values, what has been done well and how much is embedded the orthography of Albanian standard. Acceptance of standard orthography in the pragmatic fields they belong, as was oriented by the Congress, not only officially but also with patriotic consciousness by all Albanians in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Diaspora, constitutes the greatest achievement in the history of Albanian language and linguistics. Its bases and system are stable and for these is spoken and written largely, as we know, even with extreme controversies. But this doesn’t mean that standard language is frozen, can not be changed and developed. Certainly, scientific discussions should not cast a shadow over well intentioned efforts to follow the development of standard and they should not be equated with any profane effort to ruin something that has been done well and is established. Here we should also bring up some known issues, in order to complete the structure of ideas to be discussed. In this paper are briefly discussed three relevant issues: scientific criticism, Operation of Inter-Academic Council on Albanian Language/ Veprimtaria e Këshillit Ndërakademik për Gjuhën Shqipe (KNGJSH) and the basis of standard Albanian language system.
