Summary/Abstract: This paper offers a tentative textual appraisal of the “Preslav redaction” of the Church Slavonic Gospel, i.e. the full lectionary of Preslav type. It has been argued that, despite a large number of innovative readings, at some points the Preslav full lectionary may reflect the original translation. The wording of the Preslav lectionary seems to be reliable at least in the cases when it is alien to its usage. The Preslav lectionary deviates from the original translation in different pericopes in varying degree and in some sporadic instances it could be more trustworthy than more authentic witnesses. Three variants are examined: naroda radi / vasú radi Jn 12.30, propÍtú Mt 27.22, and kúniûünikú / kúnigúËij Mt 13, 14, 15, 23.
