Summary/Abstract: The present study concentrates upon one of the most important specialized publications The Historical Review, founded by Nicolae Iorga on January the 1st, 1915. In its 32 years of existence (1915-1946), there were published numerous studies, articles, and notes referring to the principal moments in the history of the Romanians or in the universal one. There were offered interesting data concerning aspects of local history or history of the army, church and culture. At the same time, we can find in its pages an impressive number of critical presentations with regard to books and magazines issued in the country or abroad. Most of the studies, articles, notes or book reviews published in the pages of The Historical Review bear Nicolae Iorga’s signature. The publication also welcomed in its pages all the specialists – Romanian and foreign – either recognized names or young people who made their publishing debut, becoming an important school of education and affirmation. Through the richness and diversity of the materials that are offered to the specialists, The Historical Review remains an inexhaustible source of information, absolutely indispensable for whoever is interested in history.
