Summary/Abstract: The presence of religion in the contemporary world is, beyond its verbal and ideological extremism, a fact of real and large visibility; it renders manifest not only man’s ability to explain to himself and to judge on the basis of his own free will his connections with the sacredness, but also his aspiration to personalize his relationship with divinity. In this modern world, where the political and the religious phenomena are living together and where religion's great destiny is to show the origin of the evil and, at the same time, the ways of man's own salvation, we assist to an accelerated dissolution process of our societal values. In this framework, the public good may be a syntagm that could bring together the political and the religious universe.
