Summary/Abstract: The year 2004 brought to a close a period of almost 15 years during which the Polish economy was in transition to the market system. The overarching priorities of the economic policies pursued during this period were to achieve macroeconomic stability and integration with the European Union. On 1 May 2004, Poland did indeed obtain membership in the EU. EU accession has had a fundamental impact on the shape of our international economic policy. The Polish market has become part of the single market for goods and services within a united Europe, and our international trade has begun to be regulated by the Common Commercial Policy (CCP).
