The category of “natural phenomena” – an attempt to define

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to analyze and describe a group of substantives belonging to the category of "natural phenomena". The main concepts used in the description are : light verb, the semantic notion of "opérateur général", "opérateur approprié". The author considers the problem of the classification of substantives belonging to the discussed category. The events traditionally perceived as "natural phenomena" do not form a homogenous class from a linguistic point of view. In the final part she presents an analysis and generalizations that characterize the category of "natural phenomena".
