Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the idea of class struggle, which, although not invented by Marx, occupies an important place in Marxism. The author attempts to show that (the idea of) the struggle of the working class has received a destructive response that, regardless of fluctuations, has doomed this struggle to failure. The strategy by which this result has been achieved is based mainly on control (and erosion) of the structure of knowledge and moral values. The author points out that this strategy has substituted social evolution by the notion of an elitist "intelligent design“ of societies and their dynamics, while societal intelligence has actually declined.
